CAE prepaid card are “pay in advance” cards, unlike debit “pay now” or credit “pay later” and have the same cardholder features as most VISA cards. They are accepted at VISA acceptance locations worldwide. The cards will display the Plus mark on the back of the card to achieve increased cardholder utility.
The program is designed to provide you with an innovative payment card issued in Egyptian Pounds that can be used locally and internationally, for cash withdrawals and purchases with the amount loaded on the card only.
This is different than credit and debit cards as it allows full control on the amount loaded on the card.
CAE VISA Prepaid programs come in three designs, as a gift card, as a global card and an AUC Affinity prepaid card, and more youthful designs will follow.

Possible Uses of the Card

• Prepaid cards for the youth/students and young adults segment; can be used to teach students money management, giving them allowances and teach them to manage their money with a VISA prepaid card, because they can only spend the amount that is loaded to the card
• Gift cards: are the ideal way to give or send someone a present and the lucky recipients can choose exactly what they want. Unlike a cheque, a gift card does not have to be banked and can be used immediately
• Travel cards: for domestic and international travelers to facilitate easy access to local currency, and is the better alternative for cash or travelers cheques, an easy and safe alternative to carrying large amounts of cash for people who do not have a traditional bank account or an international payment card. A prepaid travel card enables one to keep travel expenses separate from other expenses.
  
  

What Is The AUC Card?

It is offered to students of the American University in Cairo or to the whole AUC Community, a proof of which will have to be presented along with the application.

What documents are needed to apply?

A duly filled in application along with a photocopy of card applicant have to be obtained
For the AUC Community :

• For AUC Students: Copy of valid ID
• For AUC Faculty & Staff: Employment letter from AUC specifying functional title only or respective ID
• For AUC Alumni: Copy of graduation certificate
• For AUC Board of Trustees and “Friends”: Letter from the AUC confirming being on the list of Board of Trustees and Friends
