Crédit Agricole Egypt participates in the Stand France of BATIMAT EGYPT 2017 held in Cairo for the First Time

Cairo – March 2017- Crédit Agricole Egypt is participating in the first edition of BATIMAT in Egypt, the number one leading show in the construction industry in Europe and West Africa that is held in Cairo from the 9th till the 11th of March in the Cairo International Convention Center under the patronage of HE Prime Minister Eng. Sherif Ismail. The show aims to provide an opportunity for distinctive organizations that work in this field to explore the ways of joint collaboration and to exchange experiences. The event will witness the participation of several International and Egyptian corporations that operate in the field of constructions and building.

Mr. François-Edouard Drion, Chairman and Managing Director of Crédit Agricole Egypt commented on the participation of the bank in such a significant international event: “We are proud to participate in this important show that opens new prospects in the fields of construction and building in Egypt and offers distinctive opportunities for joint cooperation and exchanging experiences.”

“We are honored that the head office of Crédit Agricole Egypt obtained the Platinum LEED Certificate for the first time in Egypt and North Africa. This certificate reflects the philosophy of the bank that adopts the principles of environmental protection as one of its CSR priorities. We always strive to follow the strictest international standards to preserve the environment, rationalize the consumption of energy, and to use renewable energy resources that cause less harm to the health and to the surrounding environment,” added Drion.

It is worth mentioning that Crédit Agricole Egypt succeeded in obtaining the platinum LEED certificate from the US Green Building Council for its Head Office named Unity Building for its iconic design; out of which the building was set on reducing impacts on human health and on the environment through better site selection, construction, operation and maintenance.

Crédit Agricole Egypt would be participating in the France Stand “Sustainable City Club”. The Stand is organizing discussion panels that tackle several themes, with the aim of building sustainable and cost-efficient mid income housing units, providing quality environment friendly cost-effective utilities and networks, providing efficient mobility solutions and adding local value to Egypt. Many important organizations would be involved in these panels including the French Embassy in Egypt and the French Development Agency. This is in addition to several French companies and institutions recognized as global leaders in the region.
