Credit Agricole Joins Forces With AHL Masr Foundation to Facilitate the Opening of the First Burns and Trauma Hospital in Egypt

Cairo, Egypt, 21st February 2023: Credit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development has joined forces with Ahl Masr Foundation in order to facilitate the opening of the first Burns and Trauma Hospital in Egypt and Middle East. The new hospital will make a difference in the treatment of burns patients and bring hope where it is needed most.

Credit Agricole Foundation for Development has made a donation that will contribute to the establishment of Central Sterilization Supply Department – CSSD. This support will ensure providing an infection-free environment and tools for up 2,500 – 3,000 people each year – allowing the patients to successfully settle into recovery in safe condition.

The protocol was signed by Mr. Jean-Pierre Trinelle, Managing Director, Crédit Agricole Egypt & Vice Chairman of Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development and Dr. Heba El Sweedy Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Ahl Masr Foundation, in the presence of a group of members of the Board of Trustees of the two organizations.

This cooperation is in alignment with Credit Agricole Foundation’s strategy that aims at being useful to local communities and in particular, raising the level of health care for the citizens.

Jean-Pierre Trinelle, Managing Director, Crédit Agricole Egypt & Vice Chairman of Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development said: “Credit Agricole Egypt’s foundation was founded in 2017. Since then, the foundation has been investing into programs that create a positive and sustainable impact on Society. The mission of the Foundation is to complement and amplify the Bank’s contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility with a focus on four main pillars: Health, Education, Environment and Social Entrepreneurship.”

Trinelle added, “We are proud to partner again with Ahl Masr and be part of the collective efforts towards a meaningful cause, which has been underserved for long. We hope that the collaboration agreement is another step of a long and effective partnership between our two foundations.”

Dr. Heba El Sweedy, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ahl Masr Foundation and Hospital for Burns Treatment, for free, expressed her happiness with this cooperation, saying: “I would like to extend my thanks to Credit Agricole Foundation for Development for their constant belief in this cause and their support for the Ahl Masr Hospital, which is scheduled to open its first phase, start operating, and receiving cases soon.” El Sweedy also affirmed the necessity and importance of opening the hospital, where she said “Many burn patients may have been lucky enough and were able to go through the journey of their treatment, but there are still hundreds of thousands of injured people who still do not find a hospital to receive them yet. Therefore, our hope and their hope are in the Ahl Masr Hospital, so that we can save the lives of everyone who is subjected to a burn accident.”

It is worth noting that the severity of burn injuries makes them a life-threatening matter that requires all necessary means to reduce waiting lines and ensure a continuous preparedness. Hence, financial and technical aid from different parties are essential to support all burn patients and save thousands of lives.
